Rolla High School students put the phrase 鈥渢he show must go on鈥� to the test as they attempt to recover from a tornado to stage the musical 鈥淐hicago.鈥�

Rayven Calloway was hired last year as a turnaround principal for KIPP St. Louis High School in Midtown.

The annual contest runs Friday and Saturday at the Dome at America鈥檚 Center in downtown St. Louis.

Illinois high school students will begin taking the new exams in Spring 2025.

For many in the Class of 2024, this year's commencement ceremony will be a first. That鈥檚 because they鈥檙e also the Class of 2020, and the coronavirus pandemic canceled 鈥� or dramatically scaled back 鈥� their high school ceremonies.

Given by the John Philip Sousa Foundation and named after the famed American composer known for marches, the award honors high school band programs for 鈥渙utstanding musical excellence.鈥�

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson on Thursday visited Clyde Miller Career Academy in St. Louis, which offers training in hospitality, manufacturing and other fields besides preparing students for college. The governor said he'd like to see more of Missouri's high schools offer career training to help fill the state's nearly 150,000 open jobs.
